Go-To Jacket

Hello Friends!

Do you have a go-to jacket in your closet?  The one that goes with just about anything?  This purple CAbi jacket is mine.  I wear it with tanks, tees, turtlenecks and crew necks.  It can be dressed up or down with ease and is a color that works with just about anything under the rainbow.

For the love of sherbert

Hello Friends!

Mother Nature is playing serious games with me.  I'm the type of person who gets the fever, gets the itch, call it what you want but I dive in.  Once the weather turned cool, I was all about my scarves, cardigans and jeans.  In Iowa, the weather ALWAYS seems to be up or down and all around.  Today is no different.  The heat is back on outside and the air is back on inside.  I'm guessing this the end, but one just never knows.

[Pants:  Target, Tank:  Gordman's, T-Shirt, Ballet Flats & Bag:  Old Navy,
Jewels:  F21, Sunnies:  TJMaxx]

The last few days of summer brought out my love of sherbert.  Although my family can eat ice cream year round, there's nothing better than a bowl of sherbert on a hot day.  This tank reminds me of this summer love.  I'm happy to get another hot day to enjoy the orange, pink and blush of this cute tank.

How do you like to enjoy the last few days of summer?

Trend: Printed Denim

Hello Friends!

Are you a printed denim fan?  I originally thought this would be something that I'd pass on but found myself loving them.  It's a trend that I would not spend a lot on, well actually, if you know me well you know that I love a bargain on EVERYTHING!!!  But, as far as this trend goes, I wouldn't put it under the category of classic.  This one is definitely trendy.  When something is more fun and trendy, I always question how long it will last.  So with that said, this is not an investment piece.  You can find these great printed jeans for $20 - $30 at Target, Old Navy, Kohl's or the like.  They're not going to break the bank and adds a bit of fun and whimsy to your wardrobe.

Love me some dots...

Hello friends,

I'm so happy to report that not only is fall fashion out in full force, but the weather allowed for some of us to wear some of it.

Burgandy is one of the IT colors of the season.  Actually, jewel tones in general seem to be the happenin' hues.  I loved these F21 Skinnies from last fall and they pair so well with one of my new fall additions:  this great Gap shirt.  A simple plain colored or printed, collared shirt is a must for your wardrobe.  Pair it with any colored denim, blue denim, sweaters, and the list goes on.  Get a few of these great shirts and you'll find yourself wearing them more than you think.

Brought to you by the color: Purple

Hi Friends!

Ok, it's summer, right?  Well not officially but now that school is out for the kids one would expect that the sun would be sunny and the heat would be heating.  That's not the case here in Iowa though.  Cooler than usual days have kept me in my skinny jeans longer this season than ever expected.

I'm not complaining!!!  The longer I wear something, the less cost per wear it becomes.  What a silly thing to think about but some styles go out almost as soon as they come in.

Today's outfit feels a bit more timeless.  It has a shelf life as we used to say WAY back when in the sales industry.  Choose any color oxford shirt, paired with a skinny (colored, print, denim, you name it) and you're set.

Most of this outfit was brought to you by Old Navy.

[Button Down, Skinnies, Shoes:  Old Navy, Belt & Sunnies: Target]

I'm a HUGE fan of flowers, they are definitely a labor of love.  These purple beauties add a bit of color to my deck and landscaping.  They are the perfect hint of color in just the right places.

Casual Friday!

Hello Friends!

Happy Friday!!!!  I'm so ready for the weekend.  I'm not sure why, it may be because I haven't had a weekend free of sickness for a while.  We are all healthy and making plans to go sledding.  I guess it just feels good to make plans and get out of the house.

Today's outfit is a great one for casual Friday at the office, running errands or volunteering at the school.  I will be doing the latter.

DIY Infinity Scarf

Are you loving the infinity scarves as much as I am?  I love them but I have held off on buying one. I am just  too darn frugal in invest in one due to versatility.  I bought this traditional scarf and then gathered up the ends with a clear hair band.  I wrapped the scarf around twice and voila!  I have an infinity scarf for the day, and a traditional one for other outfits.
