Pumpkin Monogram Love

I'm starting to get a serious fall itch.  The weather is cooler (that is until today) and the stores have brought out the Halloween candy.  Yes, that's right!  We are still mid September and the entire side of a grocery store aisle is stocked to the gills.  Although I may be a bit shocked by the rushing of our season, I'm happy.

I love fall for the colder weather, the warm colors and Halloween has to be one of my favorite holidays.  So let's get on with it!!!!

I'm in LOVE with these monogrammed pumpkins.  I've been spying them for a while and I think the time is now.  After all, if the grocery stores can start getting out fall, then so can I.

Of course, these awesome DIY pumpkins came straight from Pinterest.  It's my go to place for inspiration.  Of course with our little ones, we'll do the traditional pumpkin carving but I think I want one special, monogrammed punkin' for myself my family.  Stay tuned, my pumpkin will be featured and will hopefully look just as classy as these.

Casual Friday!

Hello Friends!

Happy Friday!!!!  I'm so ready for the weekend.  I'm not sure why, it may be because I haven't had a weekend free of sickness for a while.  We are all healthy and making plans to go sledding.  I guess it just feels good to make plans and get out of the house.

Today's outfit is a great one for casual Friday at the office, running errands or volunteering at the school.  I will be doing the latter.

DIY Infinity Scarf

Are you loving the infinity scarves as much as I am?  I love them but I have held off on buying one. I am just  too darn frugal in invest in one due to versatility.  I bought this traditional scarf and then gathered up the ends with a clear hair band.  I wrapped the scarf around twice and voila!  I have an infinity scarf for the day, and a traditional one for other outfits.

The Hunter Green in Me

Hello friends!!!

I love hunter green with just about anything but I especially love it with turquoise.  I don't know why I haven't put these two pieces together but with my latest challenge of recreating outfits, I found a winner.  I like to think of this effortless outfit as one of those that you could run around shopping, meet girlfriends for lunch or hanging out home (provided you don't have the yucky cleaning to do).

This Jade necklace is quite versatile.  I forget to wear it as I have a lot of cleaning to do in my closet.  It's embarrassing to say that I have a whole dresser devoted to my jewelry and it's spilling out of the top.  I am in the process of getting rid of the old, to make room for the new ;).

Yep, that's right I got a pair of cutey patooty sandals that were $24.99 for ONLY $7.48!!!!!!  I was doing a happy dance all the way down the aisle!!!!!

I had mentioned earlier that my goal is to spend a certain amount on clothing each month.  I also try to find DIY for many of the things I use every day.  I have an eye make-up remover that I've been using for years and when it ran out this week and decided to make my own.  I filled up my empty bottle with the new concoction and gave it a try.  It worked just as well and for pennies!  I mean just pennies!!!!!  

Once I added 1 1/2 Tablespoon tear free baby shampoo, 1/8 Teaspoon of baby oil, 1 Cup water.  Shake well before each use and gently wipe off eye make-up.  It's that easy.

 

I hope you love this DIY as much as I do.  It's my mission to continue to find frugal ways of living without feeling deprived (if you KNOW what I mean).
