Having Some Saturday Fun & OOTD

Hello Friends!

Over the weekend we had a few places to be on Saturday and ended up taking advantage of our stops.  The Mr. took the girls to dance (2 hours, mind you) and I got to enjoy a little "Me Time".  Gotta love it when that happens!  Ok, truth be told I took the over flowing box of glass to recycling.  Stopped by Sears to make our weekly check on grills.  We're in need of a new one soon but frugal enough to wait for them to clearance out for the season.  Does this kind of "Me Time" sound
familiar to you?

Here's my outfit for running errands and having some Saturday fun.

Had fun chasing the girls around the art sculpture.

These fun circles were in the kid's library (more on that in a bit).  They resemble mercury when stepped on and the bubbles move around.  So much fun for the kiddos!

I'm obsessed with bows lately.  I love this fun little detail on these ballet flats.

We both got home about the same time, had lunch and then off again for flu shots.  Walking into the office, we hear screams of terror from poor little ones getting shots.  First thought, are the girls going to run out of here faster than a cat in a puddle of water?  Somehow we made it into the the room with no fear but as soon as R and Little S sat down, the eyes got big.  I reassured them that Mommy reserved a mist shot, so all will be good.  Phew, I get brownie points for that....right?

For fun, we headed to our new library.  It was breath taking.  Cafe, kid's and teen area, rooftop lounge, and the list goes on.  I was so impressed and the girls had a ball.

R and Little S found all kinds of nooks and crannies to crawl into.

Me and the Mr. lounging on the couch on the roof top library lounge.

The artwork is amazing.  This is just one of my favorites.

This just makes me happy.  First, I LOVE BOOKS and being around them just makes me happy.  Second, I LOVE the way they've artfully displayed them.  This particular book is so colorful and fun, I'd love to frame it and put it on my wall.

The Mr. was playing with settings on our camera and captured me in my prime, uh no make-up and pajamas.  No lie, this is our typical Saturday night and I love it.  Especially after a week like this one.

How about you?  Any fun places you've discovered lately?
Do you live it up like us on a Saturday night?

Happy Monday!

Apple Picking

Hello Friends!

We had a picture perfect weekend and decided to head to our local apple orchard.  It truly felt like a Hallmark moment.  Beautiful orchard, gorgeous weather and the girls had so much fun.

The weather has been perfect for the apples this year.  The trees were so full of apples, the branches were literally reaching for the ground.  We enjoyed a hay ride through the orchard's nursery and learned all kinds of fun facts.  We'll definitely be making this an annual event and I'll be crossing this off my Fall Bucket List.

Let's Get Physical

Hello Friends!

Are you getting the cool fall weather that we are in Iowa?  I LOVE this time of year and it has me already thinking of getting cozy.  I love comfy clothes as much as I love my skinny jeans.  The thought of getting cozy with a book or good movie and a fire, has me thinking about this great Gap Fit Line.  I'm not one to put a lot of thought into my workout clothes (typically a t-shirt and shorts), but I do still love to be stylish in my lounge wear.

Let's Get Physical

I'm loving these cozy zip up sweatshirts and crews.  They are perfect paired with yoga pants, a novel and the fireplace crackling (insert laugh here as ours does not crackle, just a flip of the switch and it turns on and off).  I will be adding this to my "Oh What I Want" list ( you know me and lists) and watch for some sales.

How about you?  What do you like to wear for cozy days in?

Fall Bucket List

Hello Friends!

Are you a list person like I am?  I love lists. I mean I really LOVE lists.   I make them for my daily to-do's, travel, shopping, you name it.  I love that feeling of crossing something off of it.  This very action has a way of making me feel accomplished and productive.

Here's my first edition of my "Bucket List".  This is a new seasonal list of all things I want to accomplish within the season.  I am borrowing this adorable idea from Jenny.  She created a fun download for her readers to edit and play with.  I made my with my own little twist but definitely give credit to Jenny for the inspiration.  Thank you.

What would you put on your list for this season?

Go-To Jacket

Hello Friends!

Do you have a go-to jacket in your closet?  The one that goes with just about anything?  This purple CAbi jacket is mine.  I wear it with tanks, tees, turtlenecks and crew necks.  It can be dressed up or down with ease and is a color that works with just about anything under the rainbow.

Pumpkin Monogram Love

Hello Friends!

.
I'm starting to get a serious fall itch.  The weather is cooler (that is until today) and the stores have brought out the Halloween candy.  Yes, that's right!  We are still mid September and the entire side of a grocery store aisle is stocked to the gills.  Although I may be a bit shocked by the rushing of our season, I'm happy.

I love fall for the colder weather, the warm colors and Halloween has to be one of my favorite holidays.  So let's get on with it!!!!

I'm in LOVE with these monogrammed pumpkins.  I've been spying them for a while and I think the time is now.  After all, if the grocery stores can start getting out fall, then so can I.

Of course, these awesome DIY pumpkins came straight from Pinterest.  It's my go to place for inspiration.  Of course with our little ones, we'll do the traditional pumpkin carving but I think I want one special, monogrammed punkin' for myself my family.  Stay tuned, my pumpkin will be featured and will hopefully look just as classy as these.

Cents of Style: reese witherspoon

Hello Friends!

Do you love celebrity street style as much as I do?  This look is so easy, breezy and casual that I had to see if I could recreate it with some of my favorite stores.

I love this look from top to bottom.  This pink, pointed ballet shoe adds a touch of femininity to her preppy look.  Reese always has a great look that's never over done.  I often get inspiration from her and a few others I'll be sharing with you.  How about you?  Which celebrity style do you often spy?

Trend: Printed Denim

Hello Friends!

Are you a printed denim fan?  I originally thought this would be something that I'd pass on but found myself loving them.  It's a trend that I would not spend a lot on, well actually, if you know me well you know that I love a bargain on EVERYTHING!!!  But, as far as this trend goes, I wouldn't put it under the category of classic.  This one is definitely trendy.  When something is more fun and trendy, I always question how long it will last.  So with that said, this is not an investment piece.  You can find these great printed jeans for $20 - $30 at Target, Old Navy, Kohl's or the like.  They're not going to break the bank and adds a bit of fun and whimsy to your wardrobe.
