Having Some Saturday Fun & OOTD

Hello Friends!

Over the weekend we had a few places to be on Saturday and ended up taking advantage of our stops.  The Mr. took the girls to dance (2 hours, mind you) and I got to enjoy a little "Me Time".  Gotta love it when that happens!  Ok, truth be told I took the over flowing box of glass to recycling.  Stopped by Sears to make our weekly check on grills.  We're in need of a new one soon but frugal enough to wait for them to clearance out for the season.  Does this kind of "Me Time" sound
familiar to you?

Here's my outfit for running errands and having some Saturday fun.

Had fun chasing the girls around the art sculpture.

These fun circles were in the kid's library (more on that in a bit).  They resemble mercury when stepped on and the bubbles move around.  So much fun for the kiddos!

I'm obsessed with bows lately.  I love this fun little detail on these ballet flats.

We both got home about the same time, had lunch and then off again for flu shots.  Walking into the office, we hear screams of terror from poor little ones getting shots.  First thought, are the girls going to run out of here faster than a cat in a puddle of water?  Somehow we made it into the the room with no fear but as soon as R and Little S sat down, the eyes got big.  I reassured them that Mommy reserved a mist shot, so all will be good.  Phew, I get brownie points for that....right?

For fun, we headed to our new library.  It was breath taking.  Cafe, kid's and teen area, rooftop lounge, and the list goes on.  I was so impressed and the girls had a ball.

R and Little S found all kinds of nooks and crannies to crawl into.

Me and the Mr. lounging on the couch on the roof top library lounge.

The artwork is amazing.  This is just one of my favorites.

This just makes me happy.  First, I LOVE BOOKS and being around them just makes me happy.  Second, I LOVE the way they've artfully displayed them.  This particular book is so colorful and fun, I'd love to frame it and put it on my wall.

The Mr. was playing with settings on our camera and captured me in my prime, uh no make-up and pajamas.  No lie, this is our typical Saturday night and I love it.  Especially after a week like this one.

How about you?  Any fun places you've discovered lately?
Do you live it up like us on a Saturday night?

Happy Monday!

The Heaven's Were Smiling

Hello Friends!

TGIF!  Wow, I can't say that enough today.  This has been one of those weeks, if you know what I mean.  We have had something every day this week.  We tend to be home bodies and very much enjoy just being together.  Our many activities kept us on the run and barely seeing each other.  When I have a week like this, I'm ready to just chill.

Speaking of weather, another warm day today keeps me in my summer digs a bit longer.  I do love this tank and it was a steal at Old Navy....$7.49.  I found it on the clearance rack and I know it'll be adorable with cardigans and jackets.  If you run out today, you just might find it as well.

My little peanuts walked in our school's homecoming parade.  They had so much fun and the weather turned out to be perfect.  The forecast called for rain, but it turned out crystal clear.  The Lord gave us a break today and we got to enjoy a little school spirit.

Speaking of the good Lord, check out the skies from this morning.  On our drive to school, the Heaven's were smiling down upon us.  It was so pretty, we just wanted to pause and take it in.  I'm so glad I was able to get R and Little S to school and home in time to snap a photo.

Have a great weekend!

Hugs,

Pinot on the Porch

Hello Friends!

I feel as though we are quickly saying goodbye to warm weather.  The nights are getting chilly and we are actually seeing hints of color on the trees.  We took full advantage of this gorgeous day and spent it outside.  Once the Mr. got home, we poured a glass of Pinot and chatted on the porch.

Don't take for granted these last few days of warmth.  Get out and enjoy it!  It won't be long before we'll all be bundled up again.

I DARE YOU

Hello Friends!

I'm taking on a challenge this month.  I'm joining in on the Healthy Living How To No Candy Challenge.  I know, I'm a little crazy right?  What's a girl doing giving up candy and doing it for the month of October???  I guess I just enjoy a challenge and know how good it is for me.  The last time I did this, I felt amazing.

Is anyone else ready to join this challenge?  I DARE YOU!!!!

Vanessa at Healthy Living How To has wonderful tips for being healthy and overcoming sickness with good food and exercise.  Although I can't say that I've been sick, I have experienced fatigue and chronic lower back pain.  I'm not a doctor with a diagnosis, but I do know that I feel a difference when I'm committed to eating really well and working out regularly.  For me, there is no better feeling than a day without the back ache.

Here's my Running Round-Up.  I didn't get out as much as I'd like but that's just life and I'm trying not to make excuses.  My goal next month is one more than this month.

Here's to a happy and healthy October!

Apple Picking

Hello Friends!

We had a picture perfect weekend and decided to head to our local apple orchard.  It truly felt like a Hallmark moment.  Beautiful orchard, gorgeous weather and the girls had so much fun.

The weather has been perfect for the apples this year.  The trees were so full of apples, the branches were literally reaching for the ground.  We enjoyed a hay ride through the orchard's nursery and learned all kinds of fun facts.  We'll definitely be making this an annual event and I'll be crossing this off my Fall Bucket List.

Let's Get Physical

Hello Friends!

Are you getting the cool fall weather that we are in Iowa?  I LOVE this time of year and it has me already thinking of getting cozy.  I love comfy clothes as much as I love my skinny jeans.  The thought of getting cozy with a book or good movie and a fire, has me thinking about this great Gap Fit Line.  I'm not one to put a lot of thought into my workout clothes (typically a t-shirt and shorts), but I do still love to be stylish in my lounge wear.

Let's Get Physical

I'm loving these cozy zip up sweatshirts and crews.  They are perfect paired with yoga pants, a novel and the fireplace crackling (insert laugh here as ours does not crackle, just a flip of the switch and it turns on and off).  I will be adding this to my "Oh What I Want" list ( you know me and lists) and watch for some sales.

How about you?  What do you like to wear for cozy days in?

Hugs,
     Trish
